In 1838, citizens of the Potawatomi Nation were forceably removed from their homelands by the U.S. Government and relocated to Kansas and Oklahoma.

This is known as the Potawatomi Trail of Death.

Many citizens died. Families were separated. Traditions and language were nearly lost.

In August of 2013, thousands of Potawatomis from all over North America travelled to southern Michigan, their homeland, to reunite as one great Potawatomi Nation.

As a member of the Pokagon Potawatomi tribe, this film has a very special place in my heart. It was an honor to be a part of this great event.
